Are you ready to move on to the next level in Cranial Cruciate Ligament Repair? Many surgical techniques exist for surgical treatment of the cranial cruciate deficient stifle, but the TPLO is presently the method of choice chosen by most surgery specialists. The TPLO has also been shown to be an optimal choice for dogs having partial tears for the CrCL. This course will introduce participants to the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) technique used to stabilize the stifle in dogs with a tear of the cranial cruciate ligament. Short lectures will be presented on decision-making including case selection, diagnosis, surgical approach and surgical technique for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO). Postoperative radiographs will be taken to assess the participants’ TPLO technique performed in the laboratory. Participants will be organized in small groups and will use both plastic bones and cadavers to learn and perform the most common technique used to treat large dogs with cranial cruciate tears.
