This course is designed to provide an introduction to abdominal ultrasound. Basic physics as well as the use of the ultrasound machine including “knobology” and artifacts will be presented. Normal abdominal anatomy will be covered with case presentations to illustrate abnormalities; however, most of the course will be spent on normal anatomy to prepare participants who have minimal use of ultrasound or have just purchased an ultrasound machine and are interested acquiring skills to use it. By the end of this course, you should have the ability to perform a complete ultrasound examination and be able to identify normal versus abnormal pathology within the abdomen.
